Nope, it's not a desync issue, it's just that the radius of the ship is so huge that they launch well out of scoop range. It's the same thing with jet cans (you can't even "approach" jetcans, you need to fly alongside them or else you'll bump).

Oh, dear god yes. On a mothership they launch at 3.5km+ range so you have to either 1. spend 10 minutes picking them up or 2. if you are being shot at, and getting bumped by them so you can't warp out, smartbomb your own drones. They're just a bag...

I have almost 4000 invention job runs since the patch that changed the decryptors, spread 50/50 between 4/4/4 characters and 5/5/5 characters. The difference in success is 2% in favor of the high-skilled ones. It's not broken.
